Onion and Potato Curry | Easy Curry With Minimum Ingredients

Ingredients (4 serving)
Potato - 2 medium sized or 1 1/2 cup,
Onion - 2 medium sized or 1 1/2 cup,
Oil - 3 to 4 tbsp,
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp,
Asafetida - 1/8 tsp,
Salt - to taste,
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp,
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp,
Coriander &cumin powder - 1 tsp.


Method
Wash potato well. Peel off the skin and cut into medium size pieces. Wash and drain potato pieces well. In same way, cut onion, same size as potato pieces. In a pan, heat oil over medium flame.


Add cumin seeds followed with asafetida, potato and onion pieces.


Mix well. Cook over medium flame for 4 - 5 minutes. Stir in between to cook evenly.


Cook covered for 4 - 5 minutes.


Now add turmeric power and salt. Mix well.


Let it cook covered for 2 - 3 minutes over medium to medium low heat.


Prick potato and check if its done, else cook further.



Now Add red chilli powder and coriander & cumin powder.


Mix well. Turn off the flame and remove from the heat.



Notes
Cooking time may vary as per the size of potato and onion pieces.
Do not overcook potato and onion, else taste would not be good.
Adjust amount of ingredients as per taste.
This dry curry goes very well with KHICHDI. and INSTANT CHILLI PICKLE.
